MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

It has been a while since I have blogged I thought that I would share a few photos from over the last few weeks. Thanksgiving was spent in southern utah with our families. We stayed a few days in Alton and then went down to Kanab for a few days and had Thanksgiving dinner in Fredonia at my sister's house. It turned out great and I am so greatful that they opened up their new home for us to use.

This is James at his Grandpa and Grandma Jones' house. He played and played and played with his little cousins. I don't think he knew what to do with all those girls. He has 4 girl cousins from age 2 to age 4 months. He is the only boy.

Here he is at Grandpa and Grandma Roundy's house. He loved to climb up on this milk can and pound on it like a drum. He thought is was great when he could play in the tupperware cupboard. It kept him entertained for hours.

Here he is at Megan's house while we were getting dinner ready. He was so excited about playing with Uncle Jesse's cars. He even let him play with his very nice car. I think Uncle Jesse is ready for a little boy now that he has a wonderful daughter.

We finally put up our Christmas tree. I have been bugging Cloyd for weeks to help me get it up, but with finals and trying to get his 1st stage exam in it has been very busy.

This is James helping his daddy vaccuum the floor and the couches in preparation for the tree. He thought it was great to be able to be "big" like his dad. He got the little tool and followed his dad around doing what he did. He even jumped on the pillows like his dad did.

Here is our tree. We bought the tree half off a couple of years ago, but didn't have the decorations we wanted for it yet. So, last year we just went with lights mostly because I was 8 months pregnant and to tired to care.

This year was a different story. We looked all year for just the right ornaments when we finally found these little signs of "hope", "peace", and "joy". Cloyd had to paint them, but they were exactly what we wanted.

The next morning, after we had put the tree up, I brought James down for lunch and I had it plugged in. He just stared at it with his mouth wide open forever. He loves it expecially the Angel at the top of the tree.

I love to see the wonder in his eyes. Priceless.

CHICKEN POX!!!

Can you believe that James has the CHICKEN POX!! I thought that was something they got when they were a little older not when they were 9 months old. Poor baby.

On Friday it looked like a little rash around his mouth and on his cheek. Saturday it was worse and a few more bumps showed up. By the time I was going to work he had a few more bumps on his back and torso. Today the ones from Friday are full on blisters and are actually scabbing over tonight. He just looks awful.

We gave him a baking soda bath and put caladryl lotion on, along with some gloves so he wouldn't itch. Then tonight for bed we put him in a Aveeno oatmeal bath, put more caladryl lotion and some aveeno night itch relief lotion on.

Hopefull tomorrow he is feeling better and it starts to look better.

9 Months

James is now 9 months old. Can you believe it? We took him for his check-up last week and he now weighs 21 1/2 lbs and is 28 1/2 inches tall. He now has 6 teeth - 4 on top and 2 on bottom. The are so cute. I swear every day he has a new one. I can't believe how fast he moves lately. I can barely keep up. I love how curious he is and how much of the world he is discovering.

I was trying to get ready for work, so I put him in the sink to play. He started just sitting and playing in the mirror, but by the time I was done he was just lounging and relaxing.

Halloween

This year James dressed as a "Sock Monkey" He was so cute. We were thinking of dressing him as a monkey, and then one day we were at Cindy's house and she had bought a Sock Monkey costume for him. How sweet was that. He loved.

He and his dad (I had to work) went up to Cindy's house for Halloween. He went trick-or-treating with Olivia and Andrew. They were so cute. I hope Cindy puts pictures on her blog, we forgot our camera. James loves his cousins.

It was fun to put James in this costume. He even kept his hat on most of the time.

Firsts

James is almost 9 months old and reaching many many milestones. It is crazy to see how much he has grown. I feel like he was born yesterday until I try to carry him around a store while I am shopping. Talk about heavy.
I am loving his personality especially the way he jabbers, jabbers, and jabbers. He is always smiling and still very laid back.
Here are a few pictures of some of his first. On just one day he crawled up the stairs, pulled himself up on furniture, and was hiding under his blankets.

He pulled himself up at the bottom stair, so I went over to help him up the rest of the stairs then put him back on the floor with his toys thinking he would forget about it and I went into the kitchen. When I turned around he was half way up the stairs and I took a picture. So cute. We now put the gate up.

James is pulling himself up on everything. Today he even got a little daring and let go of the couch for just a second. He fell on his bottom, and then got right back up again

James loves this toy. If you push the different instruments it makes that particular sound and then is can also play random music. His new thing is to stand up and dance. It is so much fun to watch.

He is now crawling all over the place. I can barely keep up. I difinitely have to keep the house cleaner so his knees and hands don't get black.

This is the first time James rode in the shopping cart. He loved it.

Dinner Calendar

I have decided to do a dinner calendar for my family in an attempt to save money and time. Usually when I am working my wonderful husband makes me something amazing and yummy to take to work. On Sunday we usually either go to my sister in laws home to eat (thank-you, thank-you, thank-you) or I try to cook something healthy for after church. Either way we usually eat at least four good meals a week. But, then there are those days when the last thing I want to do is cook dinner (more often lately than not) or it comes down to dinner time and neither one of knows what we want and then it gets later and we end up eating at Wendy's or something.
So, hopefully a dinner plan will elleviate some of the stress and hassle of figuring out what to do for dinner every night. I have gotten some great ideas for quick, easy, and healthy meals from my friend at work. If anyone else has some good meals to share I would love all the help I can get.

James 8 Months

James has officially said his first word....."Mama, Mama"

It is the cutest thing ever. I love it!

James is sitting up on his own. He is also army crawling all over the place. He gets faster every day. He almost has regular crawling down but finds it faster to army crawl. The other day he sat up by himself from the crawling position.
This is his first truck. He pushes it all over the floor.
He loves to sit up with his dad. They play all night long when I am at work. J/K. They only play most of the night.

My LIfe at the Moment

1. Cloyd is a Private Pilot

He has passed all his requierements and Stage Exams and can officially fly an airplane, and anyone else that pays half, by himself. He has now started the "Instrument" portion on his schooling and is really enjoying the simulator. Congratulations, I am so proud of you.

2. Broke my Tailbone

This last Saturday I was walking down the stairs with James and slipped right onto my tailbone. Ouch!! Luckily I broke the fall and James was fine, in fact he didn't even cry. Scary. I thought I would be fine to go to work that night. I actually got all the way there and could barely get out of the car. The charge nurse, Mickie, saw me and sent me home. Probably a good idea since I could barely move. The next day I hurt worse. My ribs are killing me as well. I think James must have landed on my ribs. Needless to say I am hurting. I can't sit I can't walk I can't stand. Hopefully it goes away soon

3. Grandma Morgan passed away

Cloyd's last grandma passed away this last week. We have to go to Kanab this week for the funeral. She was an amazing lady. It was fun to listen to her life stories, she did so many awesome things and lived in some neat places. Even the last few years of her life she was working out at the gym and driving up to Alton almost every day. She was a fine lady and I am so blessed to have been able to know her.

4. Read Breaking Dawn

I loved it. I think I like her other 3 books better, but this one was still very good. The day after it came out Cloyd went grocery shopping and surprised me by buying me one. I was going to buy it after I read the others again, but once I got I started reading and was done in 5 days. It was great.

5. James is growing and learing like a weed

He changes every day. He rolls every where now. I can put him down and the next thing I know he is clear across the floor. I love him

Study Study Study

The next couple of weeks are pretty big study weeks for Cloyd. He is finally ready to take his final exams for his Private License. Tomorrow he will meet with Micki (I think she is the head of the flight dpt) to do his "Stage 3 Exam" and then next Wednesday he will meet with an official FAA guy for his "Final Check Ride". Yeah!!
After he gets his private license he can then start flying for his commercial license. He is so excited and I am so happy for him, he has worked so hard.
It means a lot more solo flying and more cross country long distance flying for him. Maybe he will fly down to Kanab one of these times. His flight instructor flies all over the place with his other students. I guess we will see all the fun and exciting places he gets to fly over the coming months.

James is doing well. He is rolling all over the place, and occasionally at night I will find that he has rolled onto his stomach. He is growing like a weed and I swear changes every day. Lately he has been extremely cuddly, I love it.

Family Vacation

I know, I know, I am a slacker at blogging, but I hope I make up for it now.
The fourth of July weekend we went down south to visit our family. There was so much going on that we felt like we couldn't miss it and thankfully Cloyd had a few parts to sell so that we could afford it.
We left last Wed and went to St. George to see Lane's new baby (cloyd's brother). She is adorable. She is the first girl after three boys and has tons of hair. While we were there we went swimming in their pool at like 11 at night. It was so much fun and James loved it. They had an infant swimming ring that you put the baby in and they float. I was a bit nervous at first but when I saw that it was pretty safe it was great.
Then on Thursday we went to Kanab.
Friday was on course the 4th of July. It was pretty fun to be in Kanab and hang out with my family. We went to the parade and then up to the park to see all the booths there. My mom and dad were in charge of the drinks for KHS Booster Club and we helped out up there. Then later that evening we ate bbq beef sandwiches at my house and lit fireworks in our yard before we went and saw the big fireworks the city does every year, not bad for a small town. James loved the fireworks, he was in such awe.
The next day was a busy day for us. In the early morning we took family pictures. My sister in law Shauna actually took them and she did such an awesome job. I couldn't have gotten better pictures done by a professional. She has such a great eye for a good shot. James was pretty cooperative as well. After family pictures Cloyd went to a golfing "tournament" for his family reunion. While he golfed Shauna and I went up to Alton and took some pictures of James. They turned out totally adorable. Then in the afternoon we went to Cloyd's "Roundy Reunion". The food was pretty good and the stories were funny. After the reunion we had to jet back to Kanab for Kylee's 2nd birthday (Megan's little girl). I also had a class reunion this day but figured that family stuff was more important.
Then Sunday after church we came home. Whew! What a weekend.

4 months

We went on a picnic up Spanish Fork Canyon a couple of weeks a go. It was gorgeous. James loved swinging on the swings with his dad. He is babbling up a storm now. He loves it when we talk to him he has so much to tell us. Very cute

James is eating cereal and fruit now and loves it. I never thought is would be this easy to feed a baby. It always looked harder in the movies I guess. When he is ready to eat another bite he opens his mouth wide a eats it down

He is able to roll mostly by himself from front to back and back to front.

It is amazing to watch James grow into his personality and to see him develop. I love it. At is 4 month check-up he weighed 15 lbs 14 oz and was 25 1/2 inches long. He was in the 70 percentile on both of these, but his head was in the 40 percentile.

Sicky Poo

Cloyd had his appendix out this last Sunday. He has had stomach problems et pain in his right lower abdomen for some time now, he thinks since his mission. But, it has never been anything to serious in fact the pain usually goes away pretty quickly. Except on Sunday it was a different story the pain wouldn't go away and got worse. So, off to the ER we go, luckily one of my favorite surgeons was on this weekend and he took care of it.
When he pulled the appy out he found that it was not only acute appendicitis but chronic, as there was a significant amount of scar tissue around it. Go figure all these years of stomach problems was because of one little appy. The dr also gave the rest of his stomach a clean bill of health saying that is was very normal looking. whew!

Now it is just getting him back to normal. It may take him a few days to get over the pain and to be able to lift again. He is really having a hard time not being able to hold James for to long let alone lift him.

He is so cute and is so happy when he figures out how to do something new. Yesterday he started making the toys go around and make noises. He loves it.

Back to Work

Well, it is official I am a full-time working mother and its really not as bad as I thought. I went back to work last Monday and James is adjusting quite wonderfully. I think he is getting the hang of being with dad when I'm gone. It is very helpful that he loves his dad and has had a special bond with him from the beginning.

I thought the first day of work was going to be awful. Everyone kept saying that I was going to cry and they would have tissues everywhere. I felt sad to leave James but I didn't cry. I was actually happy to be back to work. Although the last couple of hours were agony. I just wanted to hold my baby and kiss him all over. I imagine it will always be like that though.

I am greatful for my husband and the great care he takes of our son. I never have to worry. He actually sleeps better for Cloyd than for me when I'm home, weird.

Visiting grandmas and grandpas

We went down to Kanab this weekend. I figured we should try to go down one more time before I have to start work next week. These last 12 weeks have flown by, and I'm so sad to be leaving my baby home while I am at work. I have a feeling the first little while are going to be pretty difficult. I am very lucky to be able to work in a career that gives me the choice to work at night or during the day.

I will be working at nights again and my husband will be home to stay with James. My manager was great enough to let me pick my schedule and so I am working Mon, Fri, & Sat; that way Cloyd can work on Tues and Thurs and also go to school and fly.

Anyways, it was really nice to be able to spend the weekend in Kanab. The weather was perfect, unlike up here were we are still getting snow. James got to play with his cousins and go to church so people from the ward could see him..

He did pretty good at church, although by the end of the second hour he was ready to go home and take a nap. He looks so cute in his church clothes.

I wish we could have stayed a little bit longer, but Cloyd has finals this week and so back to the grind and real life we go again.

Growing..Growing...Growing

Well, James is officially sleeping through half the night. I couldn't believe it. I put him to bed at 8:30 and he woke me up at 2:30 in the morning. I was so surprised that it starled me for a minute.
We moved him into his own room at 6 weeks. I was afraid it was too early, but when we tried it that first night he did awesome. He actually sleeps better in his own room then he did in ours. I have a monitor by my bed and when he wakes up he lets me know.
My 2 1/2 month old baby is officially into his 3-6 month clothes this week. Every day he has gotten a little bit bigger and stronger.
He can sit up in his bumbo with out any help now. He is so cute and just sits there looking all around with the biggest smile on his face. I think he is so proud of himself. When we do tummy time he is able to do a mini push up, although tummy time gets old for him fast. Hopefully he will start to like it sooner or later.
